Also a very nice app for people with ME disease. It really helps me to have a better sense of time.

Tim van Santen

My name is Tim van Santen. As a Health Innovator I research the possibilities of helping people with dementia to become self-reliant. Positive focus on what is still possible. When I started my Design Research project for young people with dementia in 2019, I knew for sure. Within the next five years we have developed a tool with which people with dementia can remain self-reliant for longer. That's my mission.

Nobody wants to lose their self-reliance.

Ton in 't Veen

My name is Ton in 't Veen, former carer and when this photo was taken, my wife (Hester) was already living in a nursing home with Alzheimer's. In the beginning I saw how her self-reliance completely disappeared due to Alzheimer's and she passed away at 55. My mission is this disease 'a little' to make it more tolerant for the person with dementia and the caregivers. Inspired through my Hester, I now do it for all the other Hesters in the world.

Hester and Ton

Make this disease more tolerable for everyone involved.
